Agreement
By downloading, installing, or using Midline, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
What Midline Is
Midline is a personal health journaling application designed to help you track and organize health-related information such as mood, blood sugar readings, meals, insulin doses, medications, and other daily health events. Midline also offers AI-powered features that analyze your self-reported data to surface patterns and generate summaries for doctor visits.
What Midline Is Not
Midline is not a medical device. It is not approved, cleared, or registered by the FDA or any other regulatory body as a medical device.
Midline does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The app does not interpret your health data in a clinical context. AI-generated insights, summaries, and responses reflect patterns in your self-reported data — they are not clinical assessments. No output from Midline should be used as the basis for medical decisions without consulting a qualified healthcare provider.
Midline does not replace professional medical care. The app is a personal organizational tool. It helps you capture context around your health so you can share it with your doctor — it does not replace your doctor.
Calorie and nutritional estimates are approximate. Meal recognition and calorie estimation features use machine learning to provide rough estimates based on photos. These estimates are starting points for personal tracking, not precise nutritional analysis. Always adjust estimates based on your knowledge of what and how much you ate.
Pre-meal insulin reminders are logging prompts, not medical instructions. When Midline asks “Did you take your insulin?” or reminds you about pre-dosing, it is prompting you to log an action — not advising you to take a medical action. Your insulin dosing decisions should always be made in consultation with your healthcare provider and based on your prescribed treatment plan.
Your Account and Data
No Account Required
Midline does not require you to create an account. Your data is stored locally on your device. You are responsible for maintaining access to your device and for any backups of your data.
Your Data Belongs to You
All health data you enter into Midline belongs to you. We do not claim any ownership, license, or rights to your health information. You can export or delete your data at any time.
Data Loss
Because your data is stored locally on your device, Midline cannot recover data that is lost due to device loss, damage, theft, factory reset, or any other event that destroys the local database. We recommend maintaining regular device backups through iCloud or your preferred backup method.
Subscriptions and Payments
Free and Paid Tiers
Midline offers a free tier with core health journaling features and a paid subscription tier with additional AI-powered features. The specific features included in each tier are described in the app and may change over time.
Subscription Terms
Paid subscriptions are billed through Apple’s App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of your selected plan.
Managing Your Subscription
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your iPhone’s Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access to paid features until then.
Refunds
Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policies. Midline does not directly process payments or issue refunds.
Changes to Pricing
We may change subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period. If you do not agree with a price change, you may cancel before the next renewal.
AI Features
How AI Features Work
Certain features use third-party AI services to process your data. When you use these features, relevant portions of your logged data are sent to the AI service, processed, and returned. No data is stored by the AI service or by Midline’s processing infrastructure.
AI Limitations
AI-generated content (summaries, chat responses, meal analysis, pattern insights) is produced by machine learning models that may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. You should always review AI-generated content before acting on it or sharing it. AI outputs are not medical advice and should not be treated as such.
Your Responsibility
You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated content before sharing it with healthcare providers or using it to inform health decisions. If you share an AI-generated appointment summary with your doctor, it is your responsibility to ensure the content accurately reflects your experience.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app; use the app to generate content that is harmful, abusive, or illegal; attempt to bypass rate limits, subscription restrictions, or other technical safeguards; use automated tools to interact with the app or its services; or share your subscription access with others.
Intellectual Property
Midline, its design, code, and branding are the intellectual property of the developer. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these terms.
Disclaimers
The app is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
The app is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read or seen in this app.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to damages for loss of data, health outcomes, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of or inability to use the app.
In no event shall the developer’s total liability exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app. Your continued use of Midline after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
